Lynn Prime Park Grand OpeningWednesday, June 4, 2008
A great crowd was on hand for the opening Ceremony at Lynn Prime Park! The evening started with free hotdogs and hamburgers which everyone enjoyed.
The grand opening ceremony followed, MC'd by CJ 1280's Cal Gratton.
Lori Carr brought greetings from the city.
And Helen Fornwald spoke on behalf of Estevan Leisure Services.
Mel Murray was applauded for his hard work and dedication to Estevan Minor Ball.
Anita Kuntz had the honour of singing our National Anthem.
The first pitch was thrown by members of the Estevan KPC Mosquito AAA Sluggers, and caught by the Estevan KPC Midget AAA Blazers.
After the first pitch, the Sluggers got their baseballs autographed by the Blazers. Following the Opening Ceremonies, The Blazers played host to the Weyburn Beavers.
After a brief discussion between coaches and umpires, the game was underway. Estevan's Derek Wallace hit a homerun over the left field fence, helping Estevan to a 5-2 win over the Beavers.!! A perfect ending to a terrific night!!
Thanks to everyone who helped organize the Ceremony. And also, a big thanks to all who came out to enjoy a great evening at Lynn Prime Park!
